Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island

A beachfront resort centred on guest experience and destination growth

Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island

Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island brings contemporary five-star hospitality to Al Marjan Island, one of Ras Al Khaimah’s leading waterfront destinations. Opened in 2022, the 46,911m² resort is located on Al Marjan Island Boulevard and supports the emirate’s growing tourism sector with a relaxed beachfront setting where leisure, family travel and the coastline take centre stage.

Guided by Marjan Design Lab’s commitment to delivering guest comfort, destination value and long-term place-making, the resort brings together 418 keys across two linked hotel towers and seven detached beach chalets. The two-tower composition opens the hotel towards the sea, drawing light, views and outdoor spaces into the heart of the resort while connecting guestrooms to vistas of the Arabian Gulf or the landscaped pool area.

The resort is arranged as a clear sequence of guest moments, from arrival, lobby and lounge spaces to dining, wellness, events, pools and the beachfront. Public and leisure facilities occupy the lower levels, while guestrooms rise above to capture views across the island and coastline. At Level 11, the two towers meet through a sky bridge that frames the horizon, with a stunning signature pool and lounge area taking advantage of the elevated setting.

Along the shoreline, seven detached chalets offer a more intimate beachfront stay close to the sand, while the Beach Grill and Beach Restaurant operate as standalone leisure destinations that animate the waterfront. Parking for 220 vehicles is integrated into the landscape, helping preserve the open, relaxed character of the resort and keeping infrastructure secondary to the guest arrival experience.

The design language is calm, warm and climate-appropriate. Natural stone, timber, woven textiles and warm metallic accents sit against a neutral backdrop, creating a relaxed coastal atmosphere that reflects Mövenpick’s Swiss hospitality heritage while responding to the light, heat and beachfront setting of Ras Al Khaimah. Across the grounds, date palms, native and adapted planting, water features and a pool network create a continuous landscape between the towers, chalets and beach.

Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island also contributes to the wider evolution of Al Marjan Island as a destination. It broadens the island’s appeal to families and regional leisure travellers, strengthens Ras Al Khaimah’s five-star hospitality offering and activates the beachfront through dining, leisure and outdoor experiences that serve hotel guests and the local community.

In line with Marjan Design Lab’s people and place-first ethos, sustainability is addressed through practical measures that support comfort, efficiency and environmental responsibility. High-efficiency building systems, LED lighting, guestroom management controls, a thermally efficient external envelope and integration with Al Marjan Island’s central utility infrastructure help the resort respond to its climate while supporting more responsible operations.

Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island demonstrates how Marjan Design Lab’s approach to hospitality brings commercial purpose, guest comfort and a strong sense of place into a single resort destination. Through its open tower arrangement, beachfront chalets, shoreline pavilions and generous landscape, the project creates a coastal setting that is both operationally robust and closely attuned to the way people use, move through and enjoy Al Marjan Island.
