Al Marjan Island, a world-class island destination in Ras Al Khaimah, has invited entries for the 2018 Ras Al Khaimah New Year’s Eve Photo Competition.
Open to all residents in the UAE, the competition will have two categories: Social pictures that depict people celebrating the New Year’s Eve fireworks at Al Marjan Island, and a second category on visuals of the Al Marjan New Year’s fireworks.
This year, Al Marjan Island is marking New Year’s Eve with one of the largest fireworks in the UAE. The spectacular display will create a canopy of glittering silver comets that will change to brilliant red tips with the centre of the floral display shimmering in green.
Three top winners will be selected in each category and will be rewarded with a family stay at a 5-star resort in Ras Al Khaimah.
Abdullah Al Abdooli, Managing Director of Al Marjan Island, said: “With the photography competition, we are inviting every resident in the UAE to take part in the Al Marjan Island New Year’s Eve Fireworks and document this spectacular event through images. We are looking forward to stunning visuals of the fireworks as well as photographs of family and friends enjoying the night in Ras Al Khaimah. Our event aims to strengthen the spirit of togetherness and solidarity, and through this competition, we want to reward our visitors for their efforts in documenting this much-awaited event.”
The competition opens on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at 9pm and will close on Monday, January 1, 2018 at 6pm. All the photographs should be posted on social media with the hashtag #RAKNYE #ALMARJANISLAND #VISITRASALKHAIMAH. Any submission on social media without the hashtags will not qualify for the selection.
